50 kilometers to the Shanghai Port 49, kilometers to the Yangshan Deepwater Wharf (under construction), Shanghai is the international shipping center of China and the Shanghai Port is the biggest harbor in China with the throughput occupying 18% of Chinese total.
In 2000, the throughput of the Shanghai Port broke the record of 4 million standard containers. The first phase of Yangshan Deepwater Wharf will be completed in 4 years, which will possess 20 standard container berths and an annual capacity of 2 million standard containers.
